The Snake River Ranch is located four miles north of Blackfoot. It contains 1,148 acres of productive hay and pasture land – 698 acres are irrigated with 31 CFS of water. Solid improvements and cattle-handling facilities compliment this attractive ranch.
Because of strong irrigation rights from one of the West’s most reliable river drainages, there is virtually no chance of being “choked out” during pro-longed dry spells.
2.50 miles of the Snake River form the western boundary – nice stands of cottonwood trees and river-bottom habitat harbor white-tail deer and some elk.
The Snake River Ranch will carry about 250 brood cows + 50 replacement heifers + 20 bulls on a year ’round basis. It represents a unique opportunity to own a good-sized cattle ranch close to a nice town and fronting on attractive fly-fishing water. It could be transformed to carry a purebred herd or developed into a station for prize stallions and mares.
The nearby cities of Blackfoot and Idaho Falls offer a full range of amenities so isolation is not an issue – it is rare to find an operating ranch graced by fine trout water on one of the West’s great rivers
The Ranch was home to AB What A Runner, the winner of the 2002 All American Futurity Quarter Horse Race. This beautiful little two-year old filly set a new Ruidoso Downs Track record for 440 yards closing at 20.993 seconds.
